Put Your Head on My Shoulder

This is Andrew’s first week of kindergarten. He is lucky enough to have his “first crush”, Sophia, from last spring’s soccer team in his class.

“Mom! Today we watched a letter movie and I didn’t care that Sophia rested on my shoulder with her head.”
“Oh, you sat by Sophia?”

“Uh-huh and I didn’t care that she laid on me. It was ok.”
Dad reminded him that he can’t date until he’s 16 and then serenaded us all with a little Paul Anka, “Put Your Head on My Shoulder, Hold Me in your Arms, Baby.”

Andrew gets a little sensitive if he thinks you are laughing at him, so I was a tad concerned this would end badly. Instead he fell into a fit of giggles…no doubt because he had already imagined just this scenario with the lovely Sophia.
Oh yes, this kid is a lover! What are we going to do when holding hands gets boring?
